Willis McGahee Injury: Broncos RB Expected To Play Vs. Jets

Willis McGahee left the Denver Broncos Week 10 game against the Kansas City Chiefs with an injury early in the first quarter and didn't return but is expected to be available on Thursday Night Football when the Broncos host the New York Jets.

It was previously reported that the Broncos were hopeful he would play and NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that, barring a setback, McGahee will indeed play against the Jets.

The status of McGahee is much better than that of Knowshon Moreno, who tore his ACL last week and is out for the year. Now McGahee becomes a bigger part of the Broncos offense, which includes some of the option with Tim Tebow.

The Broncos are 4-5 and surprisingly a came out of first place. McGahee will have to be effective against New York’s stout defense because Tebow’s passing abilities are clearly limited and establishing any sort of offensive rhythm will come from the run, not the pass.

After starting 1-4, the Broncos are in a position where they could secure a share of first place depending on the outcome of the Raiders game this weekend. Follow the Broncos comeback over at SB Nation's Mile High Report.
