Jets Vs. Broncos: Shanked Punt Leads To Early Denver 3-0 Lead

The Denver Broncos opened up the game with what else, a 28-yard pass from Tim Tebow to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas. After that, the Broncos were able to just pound the football on the New York Jets using a combination of misdirection runs, shovel passes, and other variations of running the football. Ultimately however, the Broncos were stopped when John Fox called to go for it on 4th-and-1 and was stuffed.

The Jets took the football on the 21-yard line but promptly went three-and-out, ending the drive on a Mark Sanchez sack. The Jets punted the football back to the Broncos, but punter T.J. Conley shanked the punt, having it only travel 13 yards. The Broncos got the football back on the Jets 34-yard line.

The Broncos picked up 10 yards on the first play, an end around to Eddie Royal, but failed to move after that. Thanks to the shanked punt however, the Broncos were in field goal position and Matt Prater kicked it true, giving the Broncos the early 3-0 lead.
