Tim Tebow Turns It On Late As Broncos Slip Past Jets

To say Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos played an ugly game would be an understatement but at the end of the day there aren't ugly wins -- they're just wins. The Broncos improved to 5-5 on the season and 4-1 with Tebow as the starter as the Broncos QB engineered a 95-yard drive and the winning touchdown run to beat the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

I can’t really explain this one -- Tebow and the Broncos didn’t play great for much of this game. In Tebow’s first 11 drives, he completed 6-of-15 passes for 69 yards and rushed only twice for 11 yards.

But with the Broncos down 13-10, and about six minutes left in the game,Tebow put together a drive we’re not going to forget anytime soon -- 12 plays and 95 yards in less than five minutes capped off by Tebow’s game-winning 20-yard run. On that drive, Tebow completed 3-of-5 passes for 35 yards and rushed the ball six times for 57 yards.

Whatever it is, Tebow turns it on in the fourth quarter. He’s gaining a reputation as someone who plays better than usual late in a game and that’s a special trait to have, as John Elway, VP of the Broncos, could attest.

Tebow’s final numbers are 9-of-20 passing for 104 yards and eight rushes for 68 yards. The Broncos -- yes, the Broncos -- have a chance to be tied for first place depending on what the rest of the AFC West does this week.
