NFL Scores Week 11, Raiders Vs. Vikings: Oakland Wins, 27-21; Adrian Peterson Goes Down With Injury

The Raiders built a big lead early, and thanks in part to Adrian Peterson’s injury, Minnesota couldn’t complete a comeback.

The Oakland Raiders went up big and knocked out Adrian Peterson early. That's a fairly simple recipe for a win over the Minnesota Vikings, and the Raiders got one, 27-21.

Carson Palmer threw for just 164 yards and a touchdown, but he also ran for a score. And Michael Bush ran for 107 yards and a score as Oakland's running game pounded out 162 yards on the ground.

Peterson, Minnesota's superstar running back, left the game with an ankle injury after gaining 26 yards on six carries. His absence meant that comeback duties fell to Christian Ponder after the Raiders opened a lead that stretched to 27-7 lead in the third quarter.

Ponder threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another 71 yards, but couldn’t bring Minnesota all the way back, thanks in part to three interceptions.

The win pushes Oakland to 6-4 on the season. Minnesota falls to 2-8 with the loss.
