The New England Patriots started out slow in the first quarter, but put their foot on the peddle and put it on the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots scored 10 points before halftime and added another 24 points in the second half. After the Chiefs scored an early field goal to take the lead on a drive consisting of wild cat, read option, and just about everything else, they were outscored 34-0.

Tom Brady was slow to get started, being sacked three times in the first 18 plays of the game. He settled in however, and connected with tight end Rob Gronkowski twice in the game, one for 52-yards before halftime. Brady ended the say throwing for 234 yards and two touchdowns, while Gronkowski ended with 96 receiving yards on 4 receptions, including two touchdowns.

Quarterback Tyler Palko was filling in for the injured Matt Cassel, who was placed on injured reserve today, and struggled mightily. Palko threw for 238 yards in the air, but he was picked off 3 times. Two of Palko's picks were off tipped passes, but he missed badly on quite a few throws, having a few more nearly picked off. Head coach Todd Haley was clearly not happy with the Chiefs offensive output. This one animated .gif however pretty well sums up the pounding the Patriots but on the Chiefs:

To pour salt on the wound, the Patriots were leading 27-3 with just under three minutes left in the game. It was fourth down and instead of kneeling or just punting the ball into the endzone, Bill Belichick ran the football, scoring a touchdown.
