The Houston Texans officially placed QB Matt Schaub on injured reserve, officially ending his season. Schaub suffered a Lisfranc injury and speculation over the last week and a half has been that the team will place him on injured reserve and that's what they did on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Matt Schaub Officially Lands On IR; Texans Sign Kellen Clemens
The Texans will roll with Matt Leinart as Schaub's replacement but they've also signed Kellen Clemens to the team as added depth.
Some people thought the Texans could be among the team in the running for Kyle Orton, who was released by the Denver Broncos on Tuesday. Houston is 7-3 and has a two-game lead in the AFC South so some figured a guy like Orton, who has starting experience, would make sense in Houston. With the move for Clemens it appears unlikely Houston would put a waiver claim in on Orton.
So the Texans face the final six games of the season with Matt Leinart as their starting quarterback.
