Fred Jackson suffered a fracture to his fibula last week and the Bills have decided to place him on injured reserve, ending his season.

    Fred Jackson’s Injury Lands Him On Injured Reserve

    The Buffalo News reports a fracture to Jackson’s fibula bone is the reason for the move to injured reserve. This is clearly a major, major blow to a 5-5 Bills team who is still in the thick of the playoff race. Jackson was having a career year averaging 5.5 yards a carry on 934 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 39 receptions for 442 yards.

    The BIlls have lost three in a row and four of their last five so this is about the worst news they could receive. Jackson was among the league’s best running backs through 11 weeks.

    Fred Jackson Injury: Bills RB Out This Week, Could Miss Rest Of Season

    “Fred’s not good, and I know he’ll miss this one,” Gailey said. “Then we’ll have to decide what happens from there.”

    When asked if Jackson might return before the end of the season, Gailey was noncommittal. “I don’t know about that,” he said. “We’ll have to wait and see.”
