Giants Vs. Patriots: TV Schedule, Game Time Announcers And More

The New York Giants will face off against the New England Patriots on Sunday for the first time since Super Bowl XLII. Both teams come into Week 9 at 5-2 despite some some very visible weaknesses.

The New York Giants will face the New England Patriots for the first time since Super Bowl XLII in 2008, excluding preseason matchups. That game of course featured an MVP performance from Eli Manning and the now famous third down helmet catch by David Tyree.

In Week 9 the two teams will face off under less exciting circumstances, but with plenty at stake nonetheless. The Giants are 5-2, though only one of their wins has come against a team with a winning record. A win Sunday would certainly legitimize them in the public eye, but leaving Gillette Stadium victorious will mean overcoming serious injury concerns. The G-Men will likely be without Ahmad Bradshaw and, once again, Hakeem Nicks, putting the onus on Brandon Jacobs, Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham to pick up the slack in the running and passing games.

The Pats also come in at 5-2 and, like the Giants, are still somewhat unsure of how good they actually are. New England fans have come to expect their team to be consistently mentioned among the NFL's elite, but a loss last week to the Pittsburgh Steelers may have somewhat shake that confidence. Tom Brady was held to under 200 yards passing for the first time all season, averaging just 5.7 yards per attempt for the game. A running game by committee continues to be hit-or-miss, putting even more strain on a suspect defense.
