Chicago and Houston have injuries to their starting quarterback while the Cowboys, who hold waiver priority over both teams, are dealing with an injury to their backup quarterback.
It’s hard to project where McNabb will go, or exactly how many team(s) will be interested, but the fact that the Vikings agreed to release him suggests there’s at least one team out there that will claim him because the only way Minnesota benefits is if another team picks up the rest of his contract this year. McNabb might be able to help a team down the stretch but, frankly, Orton might be better or as good at this stage in their respective careers so McNabb may not draw as much interest as he did.
