Romeo Crennel, newly-installed interim head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs after the firing of Todd Haley, has a quarterback quandary on his hands. In the wake of Matt Cassel's season-ending injury, the Chiefs have been forced to use Tyler Palko and Kyle Orton at quarterback; both have proven to be ineffective. And so Crennel is saying that the Chiefs will make a change at quarterback — he's just not sure what it will be as of yet.
Chiefs Interim Coach Romeo Crennel Will Make QB Change
Romeo Crennel says a change at quarterback is coming in Kansas City, but he doesn’t know what it will be yet.
That leaves the door open for virtually anything. Orton, who hasn't started and is dealing with a finger injury, could start. Crennel could start some sort of two-quarterback system that utilizes Palko and Orton differently. Ricky Stanzi, the Chiefs' third-string quarterback, could see some playing time.
Whatever change Crennel is looking to make, there's a decent chance that it won't matter in Week 15. The Chiefs, one week removed from being diced up by the Jets, play the unbeaten Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
