Michael Vick Injury: Eagles QB Expected To Start Week 14

After missing the last three weeks with a rib injury, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick continued to practice on Wednesday and, barring a setback, will start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

Vick has completed over 60 percent of 300 pass attempts for 2,193 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, using his legs to add 535 yards on the ground. Vick’s slight build has made him prone to big hits from defenders that have knocked the four-time Pro Bowler out of the starting lineup.

The Eagles have gone 1-2 during Vick’s most recent absence, dropping to 4-8 and are all but officially eliminated from the post-season. The rib injury also has Vick thinking more about self-preservation.

“Sliding. Getting down,” Vick said in regards to what he can do to avoid further injuries. “I’ve made my mind up. There’s going to be times when I can’t get the extra yards. I gotta get down. I get too caught up in the game sometimes, but that leads to me being sidelined, not being accountable for the team on Sunday.”
