Michael Vick is expected to start against the Dolphins in Week 14 after missing three consecutive games with a rib injury.
Michael Vick Injury Update: Eagles QB Takes First Team Reps All Week
The Eagles face a Miami Dolphins team that has quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league in recent weeks having won four of their last five games. Given the Eagles struggles in recent weeks, it is hard to tell what to expect out of them this weekend in Miami.

Vick has completed over 60 percent of 300 pass attempts for 2,193 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, using his legs to add 535 yards on the ground. Vick’s slight build has made him prone to big hits from defenders that have knocked the four-time Pro Bowler out of the starting lineup.
The Eagles have gone 1-2 during Vick’s most recent absence, dropping to 4-8 and are all but officially eliminated from the post-season. The rib injury also has Vick thinking more about self-preservation.

The Eagles are in a do-or-die mode right now at 4-7 (and maybe/probably already dead) so Vick must really be in bad shape if he’s not playing. That said, he hasn’t been practicing this week so the fact he’s been ruled out really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. It was reported early in the week he was unlikely to play.
Interestingly, Vick was ruled questionable last week, yet this week he’s ruled out a day before the game.

The Eagles play the Patriots on Sunday in a game we thought would be among the best of the season. Instead, the Eagles sputtered to start the season and now stand at 4-6 facing essentially a must-win game.
Young is mobile but not on Vick’s level so the Patriots will have to prepare for both quarterbacks. Vick’s status likely won’t be known until game time.

Geoff Mosher of the News Journal of Wilmington has previously reported that Vick will not play in the game and it’s looking more and more like that’ll be the case.

Schefter qualified his report by saying Vick “still has time to heal” so it sounds like, in reality, the decision on Vick’s status won’t be made until closer to game time.
We’ll monitor his practice habits this week and by Friday the Eagles will have to determine whether he’s questionable or doubtful.

Reid did not clarify Vick’s status for week eleven. He will likely take some time off from practice, but it is hard to tell how much time off he would need beyond that. If he can go on Sunday he would likely wear some kind of flak jacket, along with getting his ribs taped up. This could slow him down and impact his passing. If you have a backup QB, this might be a good week to consider that alternative, even if Vick plays.
