Michael Vick Injury: Eagles Holding Out Hope QB Can Play Week 11

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid revealed on Monday that QB Michael Vick suffered two cracked ribs last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Vick's not practicing on Wednesday, the team's first practice of the week in preparation for Sunday night against the New York Giants in Week 11.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that Vick is unlikely to play but Reid said in his media availability that Vick still has a shot to play this weekend. But what NFL coaches say matters very little. Instead, what they do is what really matters. So if backups Vince Young and Mike Kafka take first team snaps in practice all week, I'll start to believe that Vick isn't playing this weekend.

Schefter qualified his report by saying Vick “still has time to heal” so it sounds like, in reality, the decision on Vick’s status won’t be made until closer to game time.

We’ll monitor his practice habits this week and by Friday the Eagles will have to determine whether he’s questionable or doubtful.
