Wilf, like every other greedy owner in sports, has gotten the majority of the funding for his new park, a planned retractable-roof stadium, from public tax dollars. Y’know, because $650 million couldn’t have been better spent elsewhere.

The wrinkle that is bothering Minnesota politicians and probably the public at large is that the $650 million of public money in the $1 billion construction is being negotiated in secret. It appears that members of tax and transportation committees are left out of the loop and that public hearings have not yet been held.
New details on the final agreement have been promised for weeks, but days have come and passed without any announcements.

So far, Vikings fans at SB Nation Minnesota and Daily Norseman seem to approve.
This would mean a move about seven miles northwest of the Metrodome, which would certainly sound better to any Vikes fan than the move to Los Angeles that’s long been rumored, despite Roger Goodell’s insistence that the team belongs in Minnesota.
