PHOTO: Roger Goodell, DeMaurice Smith At NFLPA Rookie Symposium

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith made the trip from their meetings in Minnesota down to Florida to speak to rookies at the NFLPA rookie symposium. The trip is especially noteworthy because the two flew on the same plane at a time when many believe the NFL lockout is close to ending.

It has to be considered good news that the relationship between the two appears to be improving. While we want the lockout to end right now, we also want labor peace for the foreseeable future and that can be achieved only if Goodell and Smith can trust each other and work well with each other.

Anyway, Goodell and Smith flew down together and, as of 8:00 a.m., they were on stage together speaking to players at the NFLPA rookie symposium.
