Cedric Benson Arrest: Gruesome Photo Of Alleged Victim Surfaces As Defense Claims Extortion
Now lawyers for both sides are sparring before a court case even takes place. Benson’s lawyers believe the alleged victim, Clavens Charles, and his lawyers are attempting to extort their client. Clavens, Benson’s lawyers claim, is looking for a settlement meeting and are threatening to conduct interviews should they not receive one. TMZ, which obtained the photo, is one of the outlets looking for an interview.
Unsurprisingly, Clavens’ lawyers released their own response and claim that Benson’s side is attempting to mar Clavens. It is unlikely we will ever learn the truth of the matter, but Clavens certainly did receive a beating as seen in the photo.

That’s according to a report from Austin reporter Ricky Doyle, who notes that this crime would be a Class A misdemeanor in Texas. The incident allegedly happened early Sunday morning.
It’s Benson’s fourth arrest during his NFL career. In 2008, he was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated in two separate incidents over five weeks. In 2010, he was arrested for assault after allegedly punching a bartender in the face.
