The Cincinnati Bengals' Cedric Benson was arrested last weekend for allegedly assaulting his roommate, which appears to have been quite violent. A photo obtained by TMZ.com shows the alleged victim with half of his face swollen and the other half a bloody pulp. That will certainly be a key piece of evidence during a trial.
Cedric Benson Arrest: Gruesome Photo Of Alleged Victim Surfaces As Defense Claims Extortion
Now lawyers for both sides are sparring before a court case even takes place. Benson’s lawyers believe the alleged victim, Clavens Charles, and his lawyers are attempting to extort their client. Clavens, Benson’s lawyers claim, is looking for a settlement meeting and are threatening to conduct interviews should they not receive one. TMZ, which obtained the photo, is one of the outlets looking for an interview.
Unsurprisingly, Clavens’ lawyers released their own response and claim that Benson’s side is attempting to mar Clavens. It is unlikely we will ever learn the truth of the matter, but Clavens certainly did receive a beating as seen in the photo.
