Less than two weeks removed from pleading guilty to DWI -- and, in a separate incident, having his probation extended for a Cleveland assault charge -- Braylon Edwards found himself in trouble once again early Monday morning. According to Detroit's FOX 2, two individuals in Edwards' immediate entourage were arrested following an incident in a Birmingham bar.
Braylon Edwards And Entourage Involved In Alleged Assault
Per police reports, Edwards’ group got involved into a garish argument with several employees of the establishment. Eventually the scuffle carried over into the kitchen, where one employee with slashed with a knife and another was threatened with a fork. The knife wound required 14 stiches.
Around the time of the alleged assault, Edwards posted two messages on his Twitter account that read “Damn. Get ya knuckles ready” and “Don’t fight if. You don’t know how.” Sensing that it was probably a bad idea for a free agent wide receiver with a sordid past to post inflammatory messages on the internet, Edwards followed up Monday night by tweeting, “Yo...Lost my phone last night someone sent tweets. Deleted them and changed my password. Sorry for the mishap hopefully never happens again!”
As of this point Edwards is facing no charges stemming from his involvement with the assault. Still, it’s clear that the 28-year-old was present during the attack, which may cause further complications regarding his Cleveland probation.
