Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin hasn’t been practicing with the team because of an undisclosed illness. Maclin has now revealed that he went through a lymphoma scare but with the tests coming back negative he’s ready to return to the field.

Jeremy Maclin and Steve Smith joined Eagles practice on Saturday for the first time since the end of the NFL lockout and the start of training camp. Maclin had been held out of practice while trying to diagnose a mysterious illness. When tests for a range of ailments, from AIDS to Lymphoma to Leukemia, all came back positive, Maclin was cleared to join the team.

In an interview with Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Maclin revealed that he had a false cancer scare earlier this summer and has been getting tested -- the results were negative -- ever since.
Lymphoma is a form of cancer so the fact that the results are negative and he’s expected to recover immediately makes this a win-win situation for everyone involved. We didn’t know what the situation was but I’m glad to hear that it will ultimately turn out OK.
