In a Governor's Cup match-up, the Kansas City Chiefs play host to the St. Louis Rams at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday night. The Rams hold a 12-8 all-time edge in the preseason series, which has included 11 meetings since the Rams relocated to St. Louis in 1995. The two teams did not meet last preseason as they were scheduled to play during the regular season. (Chiefs won, 27-13, in St. Louis.)
Rams Vs. Chiefs: Game Time, TV Schedule, Position Battles And More
UPDATE: 2012 game information is here. The Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams resume their cross-state rivalry in the Governor’s Cup on Friday night.

The Chiefs are 0-2 on the preseason, mustering just 10 first-half points in the two games. Despite the offseason acquisition of wide receivers Steve Breaston (free agent) and Jonathan Baldwin (first-round draft choice), quarterback Matt Cassel is just 6-of-14 for 73 yards and is struggling to get into a groove. Head coach Todd Haley will be looking to get Cassel on track in what's typically the final tune-up before the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Rams and their spotless (and ultimately meaningless) preseason record may be a bit misleading. A retooled offensive line that added free agent Harvey Dahl and a deeper backfield with Cadillac Williams now the No. 2 behind Steven Jackson hasn't been able to move the football, and pass protection has exposed Sam Bradford to more hits than first-year offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels would like.
In advance of Friday night’s game between the cross-state rivals, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, Chiefs president Mark Donovan and Rams CEO Kevin Demoff announced several initiatives to help the recovery efforts in Joplin, Missouri, which was devastated by a tornado in May. Chiefs personnel will wear Joplin hats and shirts which will also be sold in the team’s store and online pro shop, with the proceeds benefiting the Joplin Recovery Fund and Joplin Relief Fund.
