Two More NFL Preseason Games On Friday: Rams-Chiefs, Packers-Colts

The third week of the preseason schedule continues on Friday night with the Chiefs hosting the Rams and the Packers traveling to Indy to play the Colts.

The 2011 NFL preseason schedule continues on Friday with two more games. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the St. Louis Rams in Missouri's annual Governor's Cup while the Green Bay Packers will travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts.

Here’s some more information on both the games:

Rams vs. Chiefs: The Rams are 2-0 in the preseason blowing the Colts out in Week 1 and slipping by the Tennessee Titans last week. Like all teams, they want to avoid injuries in this game. In addition, they want to see the defense stop the run against the league's top ranked rushing attack. They'll also want to see QB Sam Bradford perform well against a solid secondary. The Chiefs haven't displayed much during the preseason and that's been by design. They'll come into this game playing their starters a little more but it's unclear if they'll stay with the tradition of the third preseason game and play them an entire half or more.

SB Nation blogs will be offering live commentary during the game. Rams fans check out Turf Show Times and Chiefs fans check out Arrowhead Pride.

Packers vs. Colts: Two of the top teams in the NFL will meet in the preseason but it won't be anything like a regular season matchup. For starters, QB Peyton Manning won't be playing and the Colts simply aren't the same team without him. The Packers on the other hand will have QB Aaron Rodgers, who is an early MVP candidate. For the Packers, it's a matter of getting the timing right on offense and getting everyone on the same page. We know what they can do on offense and defense when they're on. For the Colts, it's hard to get good preseason work in when Manning isn't involved but they'll need to do that. It's unclear if QB Kerry Collins, who was signed earlier this week, could play in the game.
