Outside of Arian Foster’s hamstring injury, it’s been a successful first half for the Houston Texans. At the half, the Texans lead the San Francisco 49ers, 24-7. Matt Schaub has been stellar, Foster was effective before his injury and the Houston offense is firing on all cylinders.
Texans Vs. 49ers Score: Matt Schaub Leads Houston To Halftime Lead, 24-7
Schaub completed 14 of 22 passes for 168 yards with a touchdown and interception in the first half. His lone touchdown pass came when he found Owen Daniels for 12 yards and a score in the second quarter. Before Foster left the game, he had carried the ball eight times for 38 yards, with backfield mate Derrick Ward adding a rushing touchdown. The Houston defense got in on the act, as well, with Troy Nolan taking an interception return back 73 yards for the touchdown.
Alex Smith completed just two of five passes for 16 yards and an interception as the San Francisco quarterback problem continued to fester. Colin Kaepernick didn’t fare much better, completing one of seven passes for 17 yards while also throwing an interception. Kendall Hunter carried the ball six times for 34 yards in the half.
