It appears the NFL lockout ended just in the nick of time for the Green Bay Packers. After some concern that the lockout wouldn't end in time for the Super Bowl XLV champs to make their visit, it now looks like they'll get their chance to meet President Obama on Aug. 12.
Packers Will Visit White House On Aug. 12 To Celebrate Super Bowl
Super Bowl XLV champs salvage chance for congratulatory meeting with President Obama.

With the lockout ending on July 25 and Obama still having rather large matters of state to deal with -- such as the impending debt crisis -- there was some concern that the abbreviated window would make it impossible to find a date that was doable for both parties. The NFL did not allow the trip to take place during the lockout.
Shortly after the lockout had been lifted, Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy indicated that finding a date for the visit was a relatively high priority. Among the things he said he was looking forward to was giving cornerback Charles Woodson a chance to make nice with Obama, who he criticized for not publicly supporting the Packers in the Super Bowl. Obama is, of course, a devout Chicago sports fan.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Charles Woodson and President Obama shake hands,” Murphy said.
