Arian Foster Injury: Texans Running Back ‘Unlikely To Play’ Against Colts

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, who was previously called a game-time decision, is 'unlikely to play' according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, who passed along the information via his twitter. Foster was expected to be one of the NFL leaders in yards from scrimmage this season after a fantastic 2010, and his loss could be huge for the Texans in their Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

The good news for the Texans is that they have some depth at running back. Ben Tate and Derrick Ward should split carries, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Steve Slaton get a few touches, even though he's primarily used on special teams and coming off an injury of his own.

Houston will still be favored in this game even without Foster, thanks to Peyton Manning's injury, but Gary Kubiac and co. would probably feel a bit better about the game if they had their No. 1 running back.
