Cardinals Vs. Redskins: Game Time, TV Schedule, Announcers And More

The Washington Redskins head into Week 2 trying to prove that their opening performance wasn't a fluke. The Arizona Cardinals, on the other hand , hope to distance themselves from their scare last week at the hands of Cam Newton as much as they can.

Rex Grossman looked rejuvenated in the Redskins' 28-14 handling of the New York Giants. Though oft-maligned heading into the game, he made the right decisions throughout, finding six different receivers for 305 yards and two touchdowns. The stat line was a welcome change of pace from, you know, most of his career, and with the Cardinals on deck his odds of a repeat performance increase exponentially. The Redskins' defense did a nice job keeping the Giants bottled up on the ground and through the air, stifling Eli Manning and holding the team to just 3.8 yards per carry.

Arizona found themselves on the wrong end of history Sunday when they allowed a rookie-record 422 yards passing from Cam Newton. The Cards escaped with the win, but not before raising serious questions about a defense that had hoped to finally shore up its secondary with the addition of Patrick Peterson in the 2011 NFL Draft. Offensively the Cardinals shined a little brighter, with Kevin Kolb finding eight different receiver and Beanie Wells averaging 5.0 yards per carry for 90 yards and a touchdown.
