The Steelers have some moving on to do, shaking off an ugly loss to their division rivals in Baltimore last week. Pete Carroll's Seattle Seahawks are fifteen point underdogs, ready to be sacrificed as the Steelers look to get their season on track. Since these teams faced off in Super Bowl XL, fortunes have changed considerably for the Seahawks while the Steelers have continued their winning ways.
NFL Picks Week 2: Seahawks Vs. Steelers
The Steelers are looking to move beyond an opening week loss to their division rivals. Can the Seattle Seahawks send the mighty Steelers to an 0-2 start to the season?
Seattle will be without their most luxurious offseason acquisition, wide receiver Sidney Rice. Starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is keeping that spot warm until the 2012 NFL Draft. Naturally, experts are picking the Steelers to win this game, and mostly by a pretty large margin.
Albert Breer predicts a 38-3 game, meaning it would be, for all intents and purposes, over by the end of the first quarter. Peter King is more charitable, giving Seattle 7 points in 27-7 loss. Not even the network censors can sway Ron Jaworski and the other pickers at ESPN to deviate in their predictions.
Only Pete Prisco from CBS sees a score within the fifteen point margin, pulling 27-17 out of the envelope. Here’s Prisco:
I feel sorry for the Seahawks here. The Steelers were embarrassed against the Ravens. So they get the perfect tonic to fix all that ails them in Seattle, a team playing a second consecutive road game. The Steelers defense will be all over Tarvaris Jackson, forcing turnovers that will turn into points. It will be a feeding frenzy.
