Tony Romo’s Injury Includes Punctured Lung, According To Report

One of the story lines across the NFL this week is the comeback victory for the Dallas Cowboys over the San Francisco 49ers engineered by 201 fourth quarter passing yards by the Cowboys' Tony Romo. He left the game briefly with what was reported as a rib injury but later returned to lead the Cowboys to victory.

ESPN Dallas reported on Monday morning that Romo suffered from a cracked rib and now ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has more: Romo also has a punctured lung.

He said on Sunday after the game and again on Monday that he would be ready for next week's game against the Washington Redskins. Head coach Jason Garrett didn't hint at a punctured lung at Monday's press conference.

“I would not think there’s any reason to think that he won’t play Monday,” Garrett said. “We’re certainly hopeful.”

We should know more about Romo’s status throughout the week. The Cowboys will practice on Wednesday through Friday and they’ll have to announce Romo’s game status by Friday.
