Tony Romo Injury: Cowboys QB Won’t Practice Thursday

The punctured lung to Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo will prevent him from practicing on Thursday, ESPN reports. Romo suffered the punctured lung, along with a rib injury, in last week's overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett gave the team Tuesday and Wednesday off to heal from injuries so Romo will miss the week’s first practice.

The Cowboys believe the punctured lung could heal within a matter of days and Romo will undergo a CT scan on Thursday to better observe the healing process. He was fitted for a protective vest earlier this week could wear that on Monday, along with taking painkillers.

Romo is still expected to be available for Week 3’s Monday Night Football game against the division-leading 2-0 Washington Redskins, Garrett told reporters on Wednesday. How effective he is in that game, and how well he can move, appears to be the question.

Head over to SB Nation’s Blogging The Boys for a full update on what’s going on with Romo this week.
