True freshman quarterback Braxton Miller will make his first ever start as an Ohio State Buckeye against Colorado on Saturday, according to Doug Lesmerises of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The switch should be no surprise to anyone who saw senior Joe Bauserman struggle during Ohio State's 24-6 loss to the Miami Hurricanes this past weekend. Bauserman went just 2-for-14 passing for 13 yards against the 'Canes defense before being replaced by Miller in the fourth quarter.
Braxton Miller Named New Ohio State Starting Quarterback
True freshman Braxton Miller will take over for senior Joe Bauserman following the Buckeyes’ struggles against Miami last week.

Of course, Miller wasn’t spectacular either in his limited snaps against Miami. He went 2-for-4 passing for 22 yards and an interception against what was, by that point, a scaled back defense. Miller did prove that he could still gain yards even if he couldn’t find receivers, picking up 32 yards rushing on seven carries.
It is unclear whether the coaching staff intends to move forward permanently with Miller, or whether there is still an open competition for the starting spot. This week’s game against the Buffaloes could help answer that question. After last week’s offensive showing, it seems that the Buckeyes have a ton of growing pains to go through.
