The Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium, and really, if you need to read this to figure out who experts think is going to win this game, you haven't been paying attention. The Chargers enter as a 16-point favorite over a team that has suffered blowout losses in consecutive games to the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions. With Jamaal Charles out for the season, it's hard to see where exactly wins are going to come for Kansas City, much less against talented teams like San Diego.
NFL Picks Week 3: Chiefs Vs. Chargers
The San Diego Chargers head to Kansas City as heavy favorites over a reeling Chiefs squad.
Unsurprisingly, the Chargers were a unanimous pick among ESPN’s panel of 10 experts and CBSSports’ panel of five. Accuscore gave San Diego a 90 percent chance at winning, predicting them to cover with a 33.2-16.2 final score.
Pete Prisco reminds us that Matt Cassel wasn’t playing well before, and now has to deal with additional pressure without a running game. Final score: 37-10, Chargers. Peter King apparently has a soft spot for the for the Chiefs in this one, predicting them to lost by just 14 points. Final score: 34-20, Chargers. SB Nation’s Andrew Sharp takes San Diego and the points, reminding us with less subtlety than Prisco that Cassel is still Kansas City’s quarterback.
"Well yeah okay, but as long as they got Matt Cassel under center, you can never count 'em out" = Things nobody has said, ever.
Yup, that about sums it up. Unless something drastic happens between now and Sunday, you should expect the Chiefs to walk away with their third straight loss of the season.
