Texans Vs Saints: Mario Williams Injures Knee, Return Is Probable

Houston Texans defensive end/outside linebacker Mario Williams went down in the third quarter of their game in New Orleans. Williams was seen gripping his knee, and was soon moved to the trainer’s table on the sidelines.

Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune reports via Twitter:

Mario Williams down for the Texans right now.

Losing Williams would be a big blow to the Texans. They led the Saints by a score of 19-17 at the time of his injury. Williams’ return is now being reported as probable by the Texans.

Williams has just one tackle in the game so far. He has two sacks through the Texans’ first two games of the season. That ties him with Antonio Smith for the most on the team. Williams leads a resurgent Texans defense, that converted from a 4-3 unit to a 3-4 base under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
