Tight end is definitely one of those fantasy football positions where once you get past the first handful of big-name players, almost anyone is worth a shot. Right now, you could do a lot worse than Houston Texans tight end James Casey. The third-year player out of Rice is having an absolute monster game against the New Orleans Saints, catching four balls for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Texans Vs. Saints: James Casey Worth A Look On Your Fantasy Team
The most spectacular of his catches was a 26-yard touchdown he made to give the Texans a 26-17 lead. Casey made a nice adjustment on a slightly mis-thrown ball from Matt Schaub and then made a full bodied diving catch for his first career touchdown. With that catch, Casey also set a career high for receiving yards in a season. Prior to Sunday's game, he had a combined 191 yards receiving.
It obviously remains to be seen if this is a sign of things to come. Casey has been playing mostly as a fullback against the Saints and both of his big plays have come out of the backfield. It's highly unlikely he'll unseat Owen Daniels as the starting tight end, but after a game like this you have to imagine the Texans will figure out how to put him to use.
