Redskins Vs. Cowboys: Dallas Sets NFL Record In Victory

The Dallas Cowboys joined the NFL record books after their 18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football by playing in their ninth consecutive game decided by three points or less. Ironically, they won Monday's game against Washington three points at a time with six field goals.

If you're a Cowboys fan, like those at Blogging The Boys, you have a rookie -- kicker Dan Bailey -- to thank for yet another dramatic game, this time a victory.

If the Cowboys are going to continue to play so many close games--and, until they are healthy again, I think they will--they are going to need a consistent, clutch kicker. Bailey's performance certainly allays concerns about the kicking game for the moment...and can't bode well for David Buehler's tenure in a Cowboys uniform.

I don't know what it is about the Cowboys but they need that drama. Week 1 was a three point loss to the Jets that included a blocked field goal in the fourth quarter and Week 2 was an overtime victory over the 49ers.

The Cowboys will meet the Lions in Week 4 and, Detroit fans, you've been warned: this one will be a nailbiter.
