After starting his career with two losses, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton won his first NFL game with a 16-10 decision over the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Panthers still enter their road game against the Chicago Bears as underdogs. Odds Shark had the opening line with the Bears as five-point favorites. Since then, the line has moved the Bears to a touchdown favorite.
NFL Odds Week 4: Panthers Vs. Bears
Cam Newton has his first win as Carolina Panthers quarterback and now he needs to head into Soldier Field for a second victory.
Newton had just 158 passing yards last week, but that is understandable since it looked like a monsoon in Charlotte. But Newton will face a Bears defense that is 26th in the league in pass defense, allowing 277 yards per game.
The Bears opened the season with a surprising victory against the Atlanta Falcons, but then they faced two more playoff caliber teams and fell flat. They lost to the Saints and the Packers the last two weeks. Their rushing game is second-worst in the league at 53.7 yards per game, and Jay Cutler's pass protection has been non-existent.
Cam Newton can certainly take advantage of this situation.
