Getty ImagesThe Packers opened as 13-point favorites, a line not all that surprising considering the offensive’s propensity to put up points in bunches over the first few weeks of the season. The Broncos have only given up a bit over 20 points per game so far this season, though, so it might be more difficult than usual for the Packers to hang their average 33 points again this week.

Sports Illustrated’s Peter King doesn’t give the Jaguars much of a chance, predicting a 14-point Saints’ win while advising head coach Jack Del Rio to give Pro Bowl running back 30+ carries to keep the ball out of Gabberts’ hands and to keep Brees on the visiting sidelines.

Getty ImagesThe ‘Skins are beating the Rams in every statistical category except for rushing yards this season, possibly leading one to wonder what the oddsmakers know that the general public does not. Sure, the Redskins were bad on Monday night, but the Rams haven’t looked like anything resembling a playoff team to this point in 2011.

Getty ImagesNewton had just 158 passing yards last week, but that is understandable since it looked like a monsoon in Charlotte. But Newton will face a Bears defense that is 26th in the league in pass defense, allowing 277 yards per game.
Cam Newton can certainly take advantage of this situation.

While the 49ers have managed to put up a decent number of points (23.3 per game), they have also been very opportunistic. They have scored twice on kick returns and their defense has forced some key turnovers.

Read Article >NFL Odds Week 4: Vikings Vs. Chiefs

Getty ImagesThe Chiefs are at home, so that is obviously what is accounting for at least the initial line, but stats appear to be overtaking emotions here. As bad as the Vikings have been, they’ve only been outscored by an average of less than five points, while the Chiefs have only played one remotely close game.
The over/under is sitting around 40 points, depending on where you look, but that would require one or both of these teams to display some offense otherwise unseen.
Read Article >NFL Odds Week 4: Colts Vs. Bucs

Getty ImagesThe Colts are off to a 0-3 start and even though they looked OK last week, no one seems to like the chances of them turning it around against a Bucs team that so far looks downright decent. The over/under in this game is set at 41, which means the oddsmakers are expecting most of that to come from Tampa Bay.
If the Bucs can manage to score enough to push the over, that’s probably more about the lack of defense being played by the Colts. The Bucs average just 20 points a game, while the Colts are surrendering more than 28.

Getty ImagesNot to make this too confusing a game, but the Dolphins haven’t been any better against the spread. They have been outscored by an average of more than eight points, while allowing about 415 yards per game. Not surprisingly they are winless.
The over/under on this game is set at 46.5, which implies an entertaining game. It might be fun to watch, but bettor beware.
