Curtis Painter Starting For Colts On Monday Night Football

As expected the Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback on Monday Night Football will be Curtis Painter. It's his first career start since the Colts selected him in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL draft so all eyes will be on him.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell confirmed the move on Friday. The Colts are playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in Week 4.

Painter enters the starting job after Kerry Collins went down with an injury last week. It became evident Collins may not be able to play earlier this week when the Colts signed Dan Orlovsky, who will back up Painter.

Painter's been playing on the same team as Peyton Manning since 2009 so his experience is obviously limited. For his career, he has completed 13-of-33 passes for 143 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns. That experience has some Colts fans a little worried about Monday's game.
