The New England Patriots dominated on the scoreboard the last time they faced the Denver Broncos, winning 41-23 at Mile High in December. The Pats were dominated defensively, however, giving up 252 yards rushing including 93 from quarterback Tim Tebow. The running game should once again be a major storyline when the two teams face off in Saturday's AFC Divisional Playoff game.
AFC Divisional Playoffs, Broncos Vs. Patriots: New England Hopes To Slow Down Denver’s Running Attack
Not only would a strong running attack help the Broncos move the chains, but it would keep the ball away from Tom Brady and a dangerous Patriots’ offense.
“I think it’s important that we control the clock and control the ball and keep it out of Brady’s hands as much as possible,” Tebow said before Saturday’s game. “I mean, he is a great quarterback and he’s been doing his deal for a long time. So it is important for our offense to get first downs. It’s a game of 10 yards. That’s all we think about: a game of 10 yards.”
