Steve Spagnuolo Releases Statement, Thanks Rams, Players And Fans

The St. Louis Rams fired Steve Spagnuolo as head coach on Monday after three seasons. Tuesday, the former coach released a statement wishing the players and the organization well.

”I want to first thank every player and coach for their work ethic, character and loyalty throughout our three years together. I know each one of us firmly believes a solid foundation has been built and although not all of us will be here to experience it, this foundation will propel the team to great success in the near future.

He also had some kind words for the Rams fans who supported, or didn't support him, depending on the results that week.

”I want to thank every Rams fan for their passionate support. I apologize for not bringing enough success for them to enjoy this past season. You deserve more!

The Rams won just one game in Spagnuolo's first season which lead to them drafting Sam Bradford with the first overall pick. They showed promise the following season winning seven games and setting the stage for a playoff run in 2011. That run never materialized and now the Rams will look for a new head coach.
