Earlier in the week Pro Football Talk reported that the Denver Broncos could use more of Brady Quinn if Tim Tebow struggled and that the Broncos were preparing for that by giving Quinn extra packages in practice. Quinn of course denied that but FOX's Jay Glazer is now reporting that Quinn will indeed be ready to enter this game.
Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn Could Both See Time In Steelers-Broncos Game
Glazer reports that Quinn could see some action on third down, presumably only on passing situations. Quinn is more of a traditional passer than Tebow is so that makes some sense.
Glazer also reports that Quinn could take over in the second half should Tebow struggle enough in the first half.
The Broncos are apparently becoming increasingly concerned about Tebow’s abilities as a passer. We know he can run the ball and, in the right situations, can be successful passing it. But overall Tebow is a poor passer and the Broncos are prepared to insert Quinn if that starts hurting them.
It’s going to be interesting to see the Broncos’ reaction to Tebow when the playoffs are on the line. It will show you how much trust they truly have in him as the full-time passer.
