Steelers Vs. Broncos, 2012 AFC Wild Card: Another Drive Comes Up Short For Pittsburgh

Ben Roethlisberger is having a really bad day. After getting sacked and picked off, he started this drive having missed on his last six passing attempts. Now, he has to lead his team out of a 17-6 hole to the Denver Broncos with an ankle that looks to be bothering him again, if his limping around on the field is any indication.

He got a break on the first play of the drive. A Denver offsides call negated another interception. The Steelers went back to Isaac Redman for two yards, and another Denver penalty gave them a first down.

A no-gain by Redman and another incomplete pass put the Steelers at third-and-10. Roethlisberger finally completed a pass, hitting Mike Wallace in the middle of the field. Playing in a zone, Denver safety Quinton Carter put a big hit on Wallace to stop him three yards shy of the first down. Pittsburgh punted.

SB Nation’s NFL bloggers made predictions for Wild Card weekend and here’s a look at the updated NFL playoffs schedule for Sunday. Check out Behind The Steel Curtain for more on the Steelers and Mile High Report for more on the Broncos.
