Adrian Peterson came back from a torn ACL and MCL in record time, so it should come as no surprise that something like a left ankle sprain won't keep him out of action.
Adrian Peterson injury update: Vikings RB plans to play despite ankle sprain
Adrian Peterson suffered an ankle injury against the Titans last week, but still expects to play this week against Washington.

Peterson suffered the ankle injury on his first rushing attempt last week, but played through it and finished with 20 carries and 103 rushing yards. Peterson said he “got it twisted up pretty bad” but didn’t experience much swelling and has made progress this week with rest.
This week's game against the Redskins might have a little extra meaning for Peterson as it was against Washington he tore his MCL and ACL. Peterson suffered the injury when Redskins safety DeJon Gomes made a direct hit on Peterson's knee as he was going for a tackle.
When asked if he’d like to exact some revenge against Gomes this week, Peterson said “of course” and added he’ll make sure to keep his shoulders low to deliver a blow.
