After trailing by 10 points late in the fourth quarter, the Detroit Lions rallied back to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-23 in overtime.

Detroit kicker Jason Hanson hit a 45-yard field goal to win the game for the Lions. Hanson was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts.

Detroit jumped out to 6-0 lead in the first quarter but struggled offensively over the next two quarters. The Eagles' offense started cold, but began moving the ball late in the first half and Philadelphia took a 7-6 halftime lead. Philadelphia continued to rack up yards in the third quarter but was unable to finish drives with touchdowns. The Eagles were forced to settle for field goals on two long third-quarter drives.

After both teams struggled to score points during the first three quarters, they came alive in the fourth quarter. After a Eagles field goal gave them a 16-6 lead, Detroit came back with its first touchdown of the game to make it 16-13. The Eagles answered with a touchdown to go back up by 10, but once again Detroit answered with a touchdown to pull within 3.

After a Eagles punt, the Lions offense took over with 2:27 to play. Matthew Stafford completed 5-of-8 attempts on the final drive of regulation, setting up the game-tying field goal. The Lions had a chance to win the game in regulation but were unable to score on two pass attempts. Jason Hanson's third field goal of the game tied it and forced overtime.

The Eagles won the coin toss, but Detroit sacked Michael Vick twice to force an Eagles punt. Detroit took over at midfield and were able to drive into Eagles territory to set up the winning field goal.

With the win, Detroit moved to 2-3 while the Eagles fell to 3-3.

Jeremy Maclin caught six passes for 130 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles. His big day included a 70-yard touchdown reception. Calvin Johnson started slowly but finished with six receptions for 135 yards.

LeSean McCoy was unable to get much going on the ground, rushing for just 22 yards on 14 carries but did add 26 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven receptions.

Injury report

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy left the game during the third quarter with what looked like a serious injury, but returned later in the quarter. Philadelphia safety Nate Allen also left with an injury and did not return.
