Fan stabbed near Candlestick Park before 49ers game

A 49ers fan was allegedly stabbed by two fellow 49ers fans before their game against the Giants Sunday afternoon.

A 27-year-old male was stabbed before the San Francisco 49ers' game against the New York Giants Sunday afternoon as he was heading to Candlestick Park, according to the Associated Press.

Two men were suspected of inflicting the serious wounds and were arrested a short distance away, according to San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak. The suspects were identified by the police as a 30-year old male from San Francisco and a 22-year-old male from Daly City.

According to Andraychak, the victim was with his friends when the suspects confronted the individual on the southwest side of Candlestick. An argument allegedly ensued, in which one of the suspects took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso.

Andraychak also revealed that the victim and the suspects were all 49ers fans. Authorities shared that the victim is expected to survive after being rushed to the hospital.

More details should be released later this evening or sometime Monday, so check back for the full story.
