D.J. Smith injury: Packers LB out for season after hurting knee
Packers LB D.J. Smith will be out for the rest of the 2012 season after injuring his knee in Sunday night’s game against the Houston Texans.

Smith was injured during the Packers' 42-24 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday night, twisting his knee while engaged in a block. Smith was replaced at inside linebacker by Brad Jones, who is normally plays on the outside. The injury will further deplete the Packers' depth in their linebacking corps, as Desmond Bishop was previously lost for the season with a torn hamstring.
Through six games, Smith racked up 39 tackles, which is second on the team to A.J. Hawk. Smith also has two sacks and four pass breakups. As a rookie in 2011, Smith made 43 tackles and intercepted a pass while playing in all 16 of the Packers' games.
Smith was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Appalachian State University.
