Ndamukong Suh called 911 following his accident

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh reportedly called 911 immediately following his car accident last weekend. Suh had been accused of fleeing the scene.

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh called 911 immediately following his car accident last week, according to 911 calls released by police in Dearborn, Mich.

Suh had been accused by the other driver in the accident of leaving the scene.

Suh’s 911 call came in a minute before the other driver’s, and the defensive tackle asked for police to meet him at the Lions’ practice center. Here’s part of the transcript of the call via NBC’s Pro Football Talk:

“I have a guy that just cut me off and I tried to go around him, and now he tried to hit me when I went around him after he cut me off,” Suh told 911. “I don’t trust this person. I just took his license plate. I’m a Detroit Lion and I’m going to take myself to work, which is right here, and can the police meet me there, please?”

Speculation is that the other driver, Steve Vines, thought Suh was trying to flee the scene by heading to the Lions’ private parking area. Vines told police in his 911 call that he had been sideswiped and that Suh just “took off” through a light.

Police could not find fault for the accident, so neither Suh nor Vines received a ticket.

This latest accident was the latest in a series of issues for Suh, who has had four traffic incidents since joining the Lions in 2010.
