Cam Newton, referees cost Panthers
While quarterback Cam Newton had difficulty attacking the Cowboys defense, Carolina wasn’t helped by questionable calls (or non-calls) by the referees, according to Cat Scratch Reader:
Still, the offense had multiple opportunities to make a play and Newton demonstrated how tough it is for Carolina to win when he makes mistakes like his interception in the end zone.

SB Nation’s Blogging the Boys said that Sunday’s effort was all about pride. Part of that pride was the successful return of Anthony Spencer:
Spencer has missed the last few games with a strained pectoral muscle, but the former first round draft pick has become a critical part of the Cowboys defense over the past few seasons. Spencer had six tackles in addition to sack Sunday as the Cowboys broke a two game losing streak.

Tom PenningtonDallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who was on the team’s injury list Friday, has been omitted from the inactive list Sunday and will start against the Carolina Panthers. Bryant had been listed as questionable with a groin injury, but has been cleared to play.
Cowboys defensive lineman Marcus Spears is also expected to return to action after missing last week’s game against Baltimore. He will replace Sean Lissemore, who is inactive with an ankle sprain.
