The Carolina Panthers struggled to generate points and suffered a 19-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
Cowboys vs. Panthers, Week 7: Offense stagnant, referees questionable in Carolina loss
While quarterback Cam Newton had difficulty attacking the Cowboys defense, Carolina wasn’t helped by questionable calls (or non-calls) by the referees, according to Cat Scratch Reader:
Though its hard to blame the refs too much when the offense plays so poorly they had a chance to drive for a game winning score at the end. But there were three the Panthers send to the league office I bet:
The three plays in question were a delayed Dallas timeout after the Panthers converted a fourth down, a missed pass interference on receiver Louis Murphy and a horse-collar tackle on James Anderson late in the fourth quarter.
Still, the offense had multiple opportunities to make a play and Newton demonstrated how tough it is for Carolina to win when he makes mistakes like his interception in the end zone.
The Panthers, now 1-5, will try to break their four-game losing streak when they travel to Chicago to face the Bears next Sunday.
