Cowboys vs. Panthers, Week 7: Cowboys play with pride in win over Carolina

A week after losing on a last second missed field goal the Dallas Cowboys were once again on the road needing a victory to keep pace in the NFC East. The 19-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers got Dallas back to .500 at 3-3 on the season.

SB Nation’s Blogging the Boys said that Sunday’s effort was all about pride. Part of that pride was the successful return of Anthony Spencer:

Spencer sealed the game late with a humungous sack of Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton; turning in another great performance as he fights for recognition in what could be his final year in Dallas. He helped cause havoc for the Panthers passing game and helped seal the edge against their daunting running attack that appeared capable of owning the day for Carolina.

Spencer has missed the last few games with a strained pectoral muscle, but the former first round draft pick has become a critical part of the Cowboys defense over the past few seasons. Spencer had six tackles in addition to sack Sunday as the Cowboys broke a two game losing streak.

After two straight road games the Cowboys return home to face the Giants, whom they beat on the opening night of the season. That 24-17 spoiled New York's Super Bowl championship party.
