Teams win games any way they can. Sometimes, they administer a beat down. Sometimes, they just get lucky. The New York Giants may have been more than lucky in their last-minute win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday, but just barely.
Giants beat Redskins on last-minute touchdown
The New York Giants held on for a big win over the Redskins.
Robert Griffin III led a late drive to give his team a three-point lead with less than two minutes remaining. All they had to do was keep the Giants from making any big plays as the clock wound down. But the Giants made it happen with a big play. Eli Manning hit Victor Cruz for a 77-yard touchdown with 1:13 left, just three plays after the Redskins scored.
That gave the Giants a 27-23 win over their NFC East rivals, after a week of back and forth jawing. Ed Valentine from SB Nation’s Giants blog breaks down the win in a video recap from SB Nation studios. Check it out above and be sure to subscribe to SB Nation’s YouTube channel.
