Jaguars vs. Raiders, Week 7: Silver and Black Pride breaks down ‘ugly’ win

The Oakland Raiders stole one from the Jacksonville Jaguars, 26-23, in overtime Sunday afternoon, scoring 20 points in the second half with little to no run game to speak of.

Darren McFadden once again disappointed both his fan base and fantasy owners with 53 yards on 19 carried, but Carson Palmer was able to have success through the air by speeding the tempo up. Here's what Levi Damien of Silver and Black Pride had to say about how the Raiders got things going late:

“The first half of this game the Raiders looked like the worst team in football..The second half began the same way the first half ended. The Raiders went three and out, the Jaguars had a big punt return and were able to add to their lead with a field goal. But that’s when things began to turn around. Suddenly the Raiders were utilizing the no huddle offense and surprise, surprise, it worked.”

With 13 points after the halfway point of the fourth quarter, this new strategy got the Raiders right back into the game. But as Damien points out, the defense deserves some credit for the comeback as well:

“The Jaguars would not convert a single third down in the second half. They scored on a field goal off a fumble when Carson Palmer was strip sacked. But that was it.”

Oakland will be looking to carry the momentum from this game into next week's AFC West battle against the Chiefs in Kansas City. For continued Raiders coverage, head on over to Silver and Black Pride.
